Architectural structures and infrastructure are documented using the panorama function on an iPhone, capturing the experience of moving through an environment. The inaccuracies and glitches inherent in this technology produce fictional reinterpretations of buildings and landscapes, compressing time and movement through space into a single image. In Cerche Cerche Stazione, the journey between Palermo and Taormina is recorded through panoramic captures of arrivals and departures at the railway stations along the route.
Using the geolocation app what3words, the approximate locations of the photographs are recorded in English and then translated into Italian. This process introduces an additional layer of ambiguity, further fictionalising the data and reflecting the distortions and dislocations present in the panoramic imagery.
